A new song inspired by Jane Eyre:

by Titsweat
Included in the digital album Swelter

This song was, first and foremost, inspired by our queen, Kate Bush, who normalized writing a song about a Brontë novel. Secondly, it is inspired by the novel itself, Jane Eyre, by Charlotte Brontë. This novel is haunting and so much more than the tale of spiritual love.

released October 28, 2021
Written by Gracie Schatz
Vocals and Bass: Gracie Schatz
Guitar: Russell Melia
Drums: Alyssa Young
Keys: Scot Melia
Eugene Weekly gives some more information:
Similar to Derek and Dominos’ “Layla” or Guns ‘n’ Roses’ “November Rain,” Titsweat’s “Jane Eyre” is two songs in one, the first half has a sharp, biting melody that’s followed by a chant-like climax. And “Jane Eyre” is a nod to Bush, whose 1978 classic “Wuthering Heights” was also an Emily Brontë-themed song. So take a pause from running up that hill and give Swelter a listen.  (Henry Houston)
