 Ghost stories aren't dead. Los Angeles Review of Books elaborates on that:

Ghost stories continue to be one of the most popular types of short stories, especially since the subgenre first appeared in early gothic novels such as Matthew Lewis’s The Monk (i.e., the ghost story of the Bleeding Nun) and Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights. (Lindsey Carman Williams)

The Times of India celebrates the 100th anniversary of the actor Dilip Kumar and mentions how: 

In 1966 Dilip Kumar ghost-directed Dil Diya Dard Liya, an underrated adaptation of Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights, officially credited for direction to the eminent AR Kardar.

One of the film’s prominent actors revealed in a previous interaction, “Kardar saab was made to sit outside the studio, while Yusuf saab (Dilip Kumar) did the direction.”  (Subhash K Jha)

earned her Master of Arts at Tulane University where she authored "An Examination and Evaluation of Criticism of Wuthering Heights."

Potentially flirting with disaster, Matthew Sweet took up that challenge and thankfully walked away with a prize.
