Acclaimed new biopic, bringing to life one of Bradford’s greatest historical residents: world-famous Wuthering Heights author Emily Brontë.
Emily (Emma Mackey) is a rebel and social misfit in the sleepy, rural West Yorkshire village of Haworth. The world tells her she must be quiet, obedient and dutiful, and never share her thoughts, feelings and dreams. But Emily is wildly alive and full of imagination, inspired by her relationships with those around her—her raw, passionate sisterhood with Charlotte (Alexandra Dowling) and Anne (Amelia Gething), her first aching, forbidden love for Weightman (Oliver Jackson-Cohen), and her care for her idolised maverick brother Branwell (Fionn Whitehead). Slowly but surely, Emily begins to make her artistic voice heard—the voice that will produce literary classic Wuthering Heights.
Pictureville is proud to host this advance screening of Emily, which includes a Q&A with the film’s producer Piers Tempest, hosted by the Interim Director of the Brontë Society and Brontë Parsonage Museum, Rebecca Yorke.
