Ana alert for today, August 26, at the Brontë Parsonage Museum:
Fri 26 Aug 7:30pm - 8:30pm
Brontë Parsonage Museum
The Brontës lived at a time which in railway terms, has been called ’The Grand Experiment’; the time from the 1820s to the 1850s when railways both technically and as businesses were invented, and when things went wrong.
This talk will consider all these issues as they effected the journeys undertaken by the family, with particular emphasis on what it was actually like for them to travel using a system where it was not at all unusual to write one’s will before making a journey.
This event ties in with railway themed celebrations in Haworth as part of the summer bank holiday.
