Jane and Me: the enduring popularity of 'Jane Eyre'

Welcome to the Brontë Lounge, our new digital space where the Brontës, their work and their legacy are revisited through readings and conversations.

In this, the second in a series of special fundraising events, novelist Tracy Chevalier will be dropping into the Brontë Lounge to talk all things Charlotte with our host Helen Meller.

Tracy is the author of ten novels, including the international bestseller Girl With A Pearl Earring, The Last Runaway and her latest book, A Single Thread.  She was Creative Partner at the Brontë Parsonage Museum in 2016, the bicentenary year of Charlotte Brontë. During her residency, she curated a new exhibition and compiled and edited Reader, I Married Him, a collection of short stories inspired by Jane Eyre.  Born in Washinton DC, she now lives in London with her husband and son.

In this special event, Tracy will talk about what she discovered about Charlotte and consider why Jane Eyre continues to feature in lists of people's favourite books.  There will also be the opportunity for you, the audience, to ask a question via the zoom 'chat' function, so this promises to be an entertaining and informative evening not to be missed!
