We read on the Brontë Society Gazette the obituary of Belinda Hakes ( -2019). Quoting from Patsy Stoneman from his comprehensive obituary published at the Gazette:
Belinda was a longstanding member of the Society, but in 2014 she joined our governing Council and served o its Publications Committee. She took over editing the Gazette at very short notice and continued to do this, most single-handed until the end of 2017.
Since then, Rebecca also edited a series of pamphlets released with the Gazette like: The Brontës, Haworth & Me, Four Poets & Me, Wuthering Heights & Me and Teaching & Learning the Brontës... & Me.

The last one was a subject dearest to her heart as she had been Head of English in the Wyke Sixth Form College and published in 2009 the book When Critical Thinking Met English Literature. She was also a trustee and collaborator of the Philip Larkin Society.
