Anne Brontë  p200 - Art Exhibition
200 Pages - 200 Artists
11th January - 8th February 2020

In celebration of Anne Brontë's 200th Anniversary, a mini art exhibition is being staged. Scarborough played an important part of her story, as well as being a favoured place, it is also where she died and is buried. Open to both amateur and professionals alike, artists received a page from a vintage edition of Anne's radical novel, 'The Tenant of Wildfell Hall'. Their response culminating in two hundred original artworks - one for each year.

Organisers:  Eddie Lawler, Catherine Rayner, David Walford,  Lindsey Tyson and Tim Tubbs
The catalogue of the exhibition can be found here:
Often underestimated, Anne Brontë is an unsung hero!  2020 sees her 200th anniversary, and this book, Anne Brontë 200, contains an eclectic mix of styles and media, of over 200 images of artwork, created by 200 artists, using 200 pages from Anne’s novel, The Tenant of Wildfell Hall.  Also containing artist’s descriptions in their own words.  This is the accompanying book to the mini art exhibition being held in January 2020 in Scarborough, where Anne died and is buried.
