Christmas presents for the Brontë aficionado:

Hand modelled papier-mâché Jane Eyre bird brooch
Paper2Pearls
Designed by Gillian Haqqani in Peterborough, November 2019

This charming bird brooch has been hand modelled from papier-mâché and then covered with paper taken from a pre-loved copy of a classic Gothic romance, Jane Eyre. Although large enough to make a statement, as it is lightweight due to the materials it is made of, it will not drag down your lapel, blouse or dress or whatever you choose to pin it to. At a distance it looks like a vintage bird pin but once closer it becomes clear that recycled paper has been used, leaving you to reveal the secret that it celebrates what is probably Charlotte Brontë's most famous work.
Even if you are not a book lover yourself, everyone knows someone who loves to read. Lovingly made this brooch would be much appreciated and admired whether you buy it to wear yourself or as a gift for a friend or loved one.

Wuthering Heights papier-mâché and origami book themed jewellery brooch

This unique hand modelled brooch celebrates one of the most famous Gothic romances of all times, Wuthering Heights. If you are lover of this book or of the novels of the Brontë sisters in general then this pin is perfect for you. Even if you are not a fan, the popularity of this book is such that you are almost certain to know somebody who is, or who loves books and reading in general.
Perfect as well for your book club buddy whether it be a Christmas or birthday present – she is bound to love it.
Made using recycled paper and card for the papier mache basewhich is then covered with paper taken from a vintage copy of the book which is also used to create the beautiful origami roses which thanks to the careful coating of waterproof varnish they have been given are far sturdier than you would imagine.
