A current exhibition in Bradford has some Brontë connections:
We are West Yorkshire: Bradford People
Cartwright Hall Art Gallery
Lister Park, Bradford, BD9 4NS
Fri 17 May - Sun 22 Sep 2019

A small selection of artworks and social history items from the gallery and museum collections portraying people of Bradford, celebrating the district’s talents and inspiration.

With links to glass designer Kalim Afzal and Manningham based photographer Nudrat Afza and of course, David Hockney. From innovators such as Titus Salt, Christopher Pratt and the Brontë sisters to reformists Miriam Lord, Margaret Macmillan and Richard Oastler, visit this display of Bradford’s history and talent. The exhibition showcases the reactionary strength, forward-thinking and challenging inspiration of the people of Bradford. There will be on display a selection of watercolour Bradford street characters and dignitaries of the Victorian period, by John Sowden. A large selection of the Sowden images can be purchased online.
