La Repubblica and other Italian news outlets report the death of the actress Ilaria Occhini (1934-2019). She was mainly a stage actress, where she was a regular actress in Luchino Visconti's productions. Luciano Emmer, Mario Monicelli or more recently Ferzan Ozpetek directed her in her irregular film career.

In 1957 she made her TV debut with a five-episode RAI adaptation of Jane Eyre, where she played the lead role and Raf Vallone was Rochester. The series was written and directed by Anton Giulio Majano.
