The American Irish Historical Society
991 Fifth Avenue
New York

Compiled & edited by Miriam Canfield, the play merges real letter exchanges of the Brontës, interspersed with excerpts from their esteemed novels– Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, & The Tenant of Wildfell Hall.
A note from the director:
“Through their powerful writings and personal trials, the Brontë Sisters demonstrate faith and perseverance in the face of suffering and loss. They remain compelling examples of courageous women for our modern age.”
Performance space has been generously donated by the Executive Director, Christopher Cahill.
“Nestled along New York’s Fifth Avenue, across from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Society serves as a focal point of the contemporary transatlantic Irish experience, a place where current public issues are explored, and where the great renaissance in Irish culture is celebrated in lectures, concerts, art exhibits and a literary journal.”. . .
The Brontë family can be traced to the Irish clan Ó Pronntaigh, which literally means “descendant of Pronntach.” We are thrilled & lucky to have access to a venue that correlates with the Brontës original familial roots.
Tickets are limited so please book in advance for this very special play.
