An alert for today, August 7, at the Brontë Parsonage Museum:
Brontë 200 - Rebels and Angels
Monthly Tuesday Talk
August 07th 2018 11:00am - 02:00pm

Catherine Earnshaw is one of the most controversial women in literature, loved and hated in equal measure. But whatever you think about her, she breaks the mould of the traditional heroine and flies in the face of conventional female behaviour of her time. This talk looks at some of the different ways she and other female characters in Wuthering Heights have been interpreted, and explores possible sources for these characters in Emily’s reading, her earlier writing, and even her life.
The Telegraph & Argus adds:
The latest Late Night Thursday will be on August 16, when visitors can go along up to 8pm to hear stories from resident John Brown and Brontë servant Tabby Ackroyd.
Admission is free after 5.30pm to anyone with proof of residence in the BD22, BD21 and BD20 postcode areas. (David Knights)
