Today, December 21, marks the last concert in The Sixteen’s 2017 Christmas concerts. The programme includes a new composition by Marco Galvani inspired by Anne Brontë's Music on a Christmas Morning:
The Sixteen Christmas Tour
Harry Christophers conductor
Marco Galvani's - 'On Christmas Morn'
Concert Hall, Reading
December 21, 19.30

The premiere of Marco Galvani's RPS / Classic FM 25th Birthday commission, On Christmas Morn, will be performed as part of The Sixteen's Christmas Tour.

The Sixteen’s 2017 Christmas programme is a beautifully festive collection of music from the 16th century right up to the present day. We continue our exploration of Poulenc’s work with his joyful Quatre motets pour le temps de Noel, an uplifting celebration of the events of the Christmas story, and revisit his solemn and reflective Un soir de neige, one of the highlights of our 2017 Choral Pilgrimage. If you are a fan of the more traditional, you can find such delights as Howells’ A Spotless Rose, and old favourites the Somerset Carol and Past Three O Clock.
Previously the programme has been performed in Gateshead, London, Birmingham, Taunton, Oxford and Cardiff.
