The Brontë Society visits the Waterloo 2015 reenactment:
Wellington and Napoleon were the Brontës’ earliest heroes, so what better way to launch our season of bicentenaries than a visit to Waterloo for the spectacular re-enactment of the battle.
Two-day programme of events

Saturday June 20
10am Scandic Grand Place Hotel. Talk by Emma Butcher: ‘Wellington and Napoleon as early Brontë heroes
12pm Lunch (included in fee)
2pm Coach to site. Free time for three museums and three recreated army bivouacs (entry fees included)
6pm Evening meal (at members’ own cost)
8pm Re-enactment of th
e Allied counterattack
10pm Return coach to Brussels

Sunday June 21
Guided walk round Brontë-related sites in Brussels, conducted by members of the Brussels Brontë Group.
