A new fashion collection inspired by Wuthering Heights is presented by Battenberg-Cartwright:
Battenberg-Cartwright is a fine artist living and working in London, UK. Art and Fashion practices run alongside each other and draw knowledge and inspiration from the two fields. Founded two years ago, the designers make use of an art background to create interesting and often unusual creations for the catwalk. The label works with recycled fabrics and materials to produce one off pieces.

For this collection, entitled Wuthering Heights, inspiration has been taken from Emily Brontë's classic novel, and the cold, unforgiving and wild scenery that it focuses so heavily on. Battenberg-Cartwright has been influenced by the deserted landscape of northern England, and created this collection with the moors of Yorkshire and the highlands of Scotland in mind. Deep Purples and Greens are set against black in a thistle inspired image of tropical butterflies, contrasting against the haunting white image of the demonic Heathcliff and the monsters within the man; ghostly figures are sent out to represent the horror within the tale, in the form of white moth-eaten brides, both delicate and somehow monstrous in form.
The collection has been presented at the 2013 Berlin Fashion Week. Fashion Insider adds:
(Daniel) (Translation)
