(*) The last performance... for now:

It is with heartfelt gratitude and deep appreciation that we announce Brontë: A Portrait of Charlotte will bid a fond farewell to audiences on September 15, 2012. But don’t be too sad, it couldn’t be for a happier reason: star Maxine Linehan is expecting her second child! That does, however, mean that the corset is getting uncomfortable.

This production has marked such a tremendous success for alloy theater company. We are so proud of our Off-Broadway debut and are in awe of all of the love and attention our audiences and critics have shown us. You’ve laughed with us, cried with us, dreamed with us. We couldn’t have hoped for anything more. And we can’t help but feel that it’s a show Charlotte herself would be proud of.

This isn’t the end of Brontë. The production has sparked interest from both national and international theater companies and we fully intend to bring this incredible woman and her story back to the stage in 2013. Until then, we have just four more shows, and our final performance on September 15 is almost sold out! That’s not all – after our farewell performance, we’re inviting our audience to join us for our fabulous closing night party! If you haven’t seen this show – or know someone that hasn’t seen it – now is your chance! Shows run Thursdays at 8 pm and Saturdays at 4:30 pm, at the Actors Temple Theater in the Theatre District. Click here for tickets.

Please spread the word, and help us give Ms. Brontë a warm sendoff. It has been our great pleasure to bring you this story, and we hope to see you before our break to help us celebrate this tremendous woman, and this very special show.
