The National Board of Review has announced their 2011 Awards. Michael Fassbender has been awarded with the Spotlight Award for his roles in 'A Dangerous Method', 'Jane Eyre', 'X-Men', and 'Shame'.

The nominations of the Satellite Awards have also been released. A bit disappointing as Jane Eyre 2011 is only nominated for Best Costume Design. Michael O'Connor will be up against
Lisy Christl ... Anonymous ... Sony Pictures Classics
Isabel Branco ... Mysteries of Lisbon (Mistérios de Lisboa) ... Music Box Films
Mark Bridges ...  The Artist ... The Weinstein Company
Lidiya Kryukova ... Faust
Jacqueline West ... Water For Elephants ... 20th Century Fox
The Hollywood Reporter discusses possible Oscar nominations:
Then there is Dario Marianelli's distinctive score for the new version of Jane Eyre, which does just what such a score for a period romantic melodrama is supposed to do -- provide the story with a strong and constant pulse, without cliches. (Todd McCarthy)
National Post thinks that Michael Fassbender could be nominated to Best Actor for Shame:
A bravura performance, no doubt, but the film’s racy subject matter may hamper Fassbender’s chances with the more conservative Academy voters. “Isn’t that the dashing, aloof Mr. Rochester from Jane Eyre? Naked?” (Chris Knight)
HitFix thinks that the film will probably  be nominated to Best Costume Design and Best Original Music. Will Hughes-Jones and Tina Jones could be nominated for Best Art Direction. Moira Buffini could be a dark horse in the Best Adapted Screenplay category and the makeup department is in the same situation. Cary Fukunaga, Michael Fassbender, Mia Wasikowska, Judi Dench and Adriano Goldman (cinematography) have some tiny chances of being nominated in their categories.
