The winning entries of the Brontë Society’s 2011 Literary Competition are now available in the form of a small book. This is an exciting collection of six short stories (ranging from the lyrical to the gritty), three essays (two seriously academic, one sparklingly personal) and six superb poems, several from prize-winning poets. The very high standard of the winners was guaranteed by the skill of the three eminent judges: Bonnie Greer O.B.E. (now our new President) judged the short stories; Professor Heather Glen of Cambridge University, the essays; and Professor Michael O’Neill of Durham University, the poetry.
