In Huddersfield, the composer Frédéric Chaslin presents the orquestral version of Gypsy Dance from his Wuthering Heights opera:
The Orchestra of Opera North
Huddersfield Town Hall
Thurs 22 Sept, 7.30pm

French Maestro, Frédéric Chaslin, and our resident Orchestra launch the season in spectacular style in a programme full of Gallic romance and virtuosity – with a Yorkshire twist! Saint-Saëns’ ever-popular Organ Symphony is perfect vehicle to showcase Huddersfield’s magnificent Father Willis instrument and after the wonderful colours of Debussy and Ravel, we celebrate one of the great love stories with the World Première of Maestro Chaslin’s own Gypsy Dance from his opera Wuthering Heights.

Debussy – Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune
Ravel – Piano Concerto in G
Frédéric Chaslin – Wuthering Heights: Gypsy Dance (World Première)
Saint-Saëns: Symphony No. 3 ‘Organ’

Director/Soloist: Frédéric Chaslin
Organ: Joseph Cullen

Cooper's Field lies within Bute Park, a popular green haven at the heart of the city. Sited next to the River Taff, the park was originally created as the private garden to nearby Cardiff Castle. Internationally recognised for its Grade 1 listed, historically designed landscape, scheduled ancient monument and arboretum, the park is rich with archaeological and wildlife interest.
EDIT: Unfortunately, it seems that tonight's show has been cancelled.
