Charlotte Brontë is to be found in a couple of unexpected places today.
Firstly, according to the
Hucknall Dispatch, she was present in a recent local memorial of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster where
The church minister, the Rev Vanessa Hollingworth, read a poem entitled ‘Life’ by famous novelist Charlotte Bronte.
And secondly,
JTA has an article on Adina Bar Shalom,
Rabbi Ovadia Yosef’s daughter:
Bar Shalom was born Adina Yosef in 1945 in Jerusalem, the first daughter to Yosef and his wife, Margalit. She was a good student and an avid reader. Between helping her mother and taking care of her younger brothers and sisters, she says she read everything: “Jane Eyre,” “Gone with the Wind,” Ayn Rand. (Noam Sheizaf)
Jennifer Allee interviews writer
Michelle Griep:
Q: If you weren’t a writer, what would you be doing?
A: I’d be running a B&B in England. Near a castle. On a moor. With Mr. Rochester as my neighbor. Wow. Did I mention I’m an out-of-the-closet Charlotte Brontë fan-a-maniac?
