Another theatre adaptation of Jane Eyre opened in Chico, CA last April 7:
Jane Eyre
An original adaptation of Charlotte Brontë's haunting tale of unlikely love.
Adapted by Amber Miller.

April 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, 16, 21, 22 at 7.30 pm
Rogue Teatre
1078 Gallery, 820 Broadway

Amber Miller wears more than her usual many hats as she adapts, directs and designs this original, and thoroughly Rogue adaption of one of literatures best-loved tales. Its stripped down, raw, energetic and powerful. It is a story most of us know, told in a way none of us has seen before.
Delisa Freistadt (Blackbird, Killer Joe) plays Jane - small, plain, pale, penniless Jane. Jane the orphan, Jane the governess, Jane the unlikely obsession of vicous, moody, and rich Master of Thornfield Manor. But deep within the halls of Thornfield lives a dark and twisted mystery that will test Jane in a way she could never imagine.
Betty Burns, Ben Allen, Joe Hilsee and Cara Clifford comprise the cast in this timeless tale of Love and Passion, God and Religion, Atonement and Forgivess, Social class and Gender Relations. Its a lot to pack into two hours and Jane's journey from obscurity to eternal love will leave you breathless.
Bring tissues - you've been warned.
