1. The Eyresses project has a couple of events for the following days:

Madmen on the moors! Madwomen in the attic! A young woman in search of equality, dignity, and love! Do you love Jane Eyre? Of course you do! On the weekend that a new film adaptation of Charlotte Brontë’s classic novel opens, join the writers and editors of Eyresses: The Zine for Jane Eyre Enthusiasts as we pay homage to one of literature’s most enduring heroines.

In addition to Jane Eyre trivia (with prizes!) and dramatic readings of the text itself, you’ll hear from Eyresses contributors:

Sherri Erwin, author of Jane Slayre, will read from her bloodcurdling horror retelling of the story.

2. A talk in Watlington, Oxfordshire:
Novelist and cultural commentator Celia Brayfield is giving an illustrated talk on romantic heroes in literature entitled From Heathcliff To Dr Who in aid of the Friends of Watlington Library next Friday, March 11.

The talk will be held at Watlington Town Hall at 7.30pm for 8pm. Tickets are £6 and are available from Watlington Library and post office. (Henley Standard)
