Several news outlets report the death of Susannah York (1939-2011) yesterday at 72 years. She was Jane Eyre on the Delbert Mann 1970 production starring beside George C. Scott:

Actor will be best remembered for Oscar-nominated performance in They Shoot Horses, Don't They?
Susannah York, the British actress whose gamine looks and demure persona made her an icon of the swinging 60s, has died at the age of 72. She passed away yesterday following a long battle with bone marrow cancer. (Ben Quinn in The Guardian)
Obituaries can be found everywhere: BBC News, The Telegraph, Allvoices, CBS, Associated Press, Broadway World, The Wrap, The Times, The Washington Post, The Independent, The Guardian (again), The Australian...

Curiously enough, the picture which Associated Press has distributed with the press release of her death is a Jane Eyre one:
British actress Susannah York watches George C. Scott as he ponders a chess move during a break in filming scenes of "Jane Eyre" in this June 17, 1970 file photo taken in Yorkshire England. York.
And more recently she was Nelly in the Birminghan Repertory Theatre production of April de Angelis's Wuthering Heights (2008).
