After requesting readers' participation, Penguin have narrowed their longlist of 100 Penguin Classics to 25 and once again ask for reades' opinion to compile the Top 10 Essential Penguin Classics list (as opposed to
last year's top 10 which was made by Penguin and which included
Jane Eyre). Do
click here to vote for your favourites. Here's a tip, though: both
Jane Eyre and
Wuthering Heights have made it to the 25 shortlist.
Also, as Penguin wrote to tell us,
Additionally, Penguin is giving away an entire set of Graphic Deluxe Classics (24 titles in all!) to whoever can most closely predict the Top 10 Essential Penguin Classics.
To enter for a chance to win this amazing prize, send an email with your first and last name, email address, date of birth, and your ranked predictions for what the final Top 10 list will look like to penguinclassics@us.penguingroup.com by December 17th. Please visit the website for further contest rules and instructions.
And speaking of Penguin, their latest edition of
Jane Eyre with a jacket illustrated by Ruben Toledo (who also did
Wuthering Heights a few months ago) was just released a couple of weeks ago and as
Metro has been quick to point out it makes a really lovely Christmas present.
