The annual Heritage Open Days begin tomorrow, September 9. These are some of the Brontë-related events/buildings which will be open to the public:
West Yorkshire Print Workshop

Description
'Heritage' Exhibition of artwork by WYPW members created in response to HOD buildings in Kirklees area. Building open to look around - former school opened around 1880. Talks about building and local history programmed over weekend. On Saturday there will be talks on 'An Early History of Mirfield' (1100) and 'The Robin Hood and the Kirklees Collection' (1400), and on Sunday there will be a talk on 'The Brontës in Mirfield' (1400).

Description
Anglo-Saxon Grade I listed church with connections to Fountains Abbey and the Brontë family. There are also connection to the Canadian Air Force. The building is used by students of architecture and historic buildings.

Description
An imposing Elizabethan tower house commanding panoramic views over the Peak District countryside. Believed to have provided the inspiration for Thornfield Hall in Charlotte Brontë's Jane Eyre and in recent times has been a popular location for filming.

Masonic Lodge Open Day

Description
Masonic Lodge Open Day with guided tours around the Masonic Temple. Displays of : Brontë connections, details of interesting historical members of the Lodge, Masonic regalia, local Lodge history.

Haworth Methodist Church
West Lane, Haworth, Keighley, West Yorkshire, BD22 8EL

Description
West Lane Methodist Church is steeped in history. The society was founded in 1774-45 and encouraged by Haworth curate the Rev William Grimshaw. See the church being decorated for harvest, pick up history leaflets and hear talks about Rev Grimshaw.
