**THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED**

Five years ago, on a day like today, we joined the blogosphere determined to see what afterlife was like for the Brontës in the 21st century. We were aware that the Brontës and their literary output were far from dead and still touched daily the lives of all kinds of people around the world. We were nonetheless surprised by the sheer volume of Brontë presence across all sorts of formats, productions, genres, books, etc. Five years later we are still surprised day after day when we rake the internet for Brontë stuff.

BrontëBlog was born on Blogger but is also now available on social networks such as Twitter, Tumblr, Netvibes, Facebook... And of course you can still take our feed and read it on your favourite feed reader or subscribe by email.

So, to celebrate these five years we have a few giveaways which we hope will cater to everyone's taste. Here's what we're giving away:
  • Two copies of The House of Dead Maids by Clare B. Dunkle and illustrated by Patrick Arrasmith (only open, however, to US and Canada residents), courtesy of Blue Slip Media and Henry Holt and Company Publishers.
  • A copy of Michèle Roberts's Mud: Stories of Sex and Love (worldwide), courtesy of Little Brown Book Group.
  • A copy of Capuchin's edition of Agnes Grey by Anne Brontë with a foreword by Isabel Quigly (worldwide), courtesy of Capuchin Classics.
In order to enter the contest just send us an email to bronteblog AT gmail DOT com kindly saying whether you are U.S.-/Canada-based or not. Emails will be accepted until September 20 (12 am CET). Each of the four winners will be notified by e-mail on the ensuing days. We will accept ONE EMAIL ONLY per participant.

Good luck and many, many thanks for reading BrontëBlog.

  1. Congratulations BronteBlog! I began reading this blog when I first became a Bronte enthusiast at the beginning of my undergrad -- now four years later, I have a job as a high school English teacher, and still check out this blog everyday! Thanks for running such a fun, informative blog -- it has really given me an interesting perspective on the Brontes' cultural influence. You should write a book : )
