An alert from Imelda Marsden, Life member of the Brontë Society:
On SUNDAY THE 12TH SEPTEMBER at 2pm, Imelda Marsden is to give the history of Eastthorpe Visual Arts Centre at Eastthorpe on Huddersfied Road, Mirfield, West Yorkshire.
The stones and stone window frames came from the previous St Mary's Mirfield Parish Church, Mirfield. This is where the Brontë sisters attended whilst at school at Roe Head. Also Anne Brontë attended with the Ingham family of Blake Hall. This is where Anne was a governess for 9 months.
Imelda is after the history of the building to introduce Ann Dinsdale, Librarian and Collections manager of the Brontë Parsonage museum to talk abut the Brontës.
All are welcome there is to be talks over the Heritage weekend one about Robin Hood where his grave is on the Kirklees Hall site only about 3miles from the art gallery.
