Even if Charlotte Brontë herself found the aspect of G.H. Lewes reminiscent of her sister Emily, that is no excuse for a modern art dealer to try to bank in on someone's enthusiasm for the Brontës by selling them something that has actually nothing to do with any member of the Brontë family.

Not only that, but the art dealer also describes this copy of a portrait of G.H. Lewes with hair extensions as
American Victorian style oil painting of Emily Bronte in a dark stained frame (part of a series of American 19th Cent writers)
So not only was Emily Brontë (according to this dealer) a carbon-copy of Lewes but she was American as well.

And you can take that 'authentic' (please note the inverted commas) painting home for just $2,500. Quite a treat, huh?
