Brontë Society events take place throughout the year. Including this Literary Competition that maybe can appeal to some of our readers:
Categories: Brontë Society2010 - 2011 Literary Competition:
We are delighted to announce the Society's Literary Competition. There will be three entry categories : short stories, essays and poetry, and each entry must have a connection with the Brontë Sisters' lives or works, or with people, places or objects connected with them.
Judges will be : Short story : Ms Bonnie Greer
Essay : Professor Heather Glen
Poetry : Professor Michael O'Neill.In each section first prize will be £500, second prize £250 and third prize £100. All entrants who are not already Society members will receive one year's free membership of the Brontë Society.
Deadline for entries : 31st January 2011.
