1. The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) presents a production of Polly Teale's After Mrs Rochester:
After Mrs Rochester
11-13 March 2010
7:30pm (Matinee 2:30pm on 13 March)
Student Public Performances
Sennheiser Studio Theatre, LIPA

The tortured author Jean Rhys was obsessed with the novel Jane Eyre – but more particularly with the character Bertha Mason, the first Mrs Rochester and the ‘madwoman in the attic’.
Placing Bertha on stage throughout as Jean’s alter ego, playwright Polly Teale’s remarkable dramatisation of Rhys’s life gives full vent to this obsession – which was to prove the catalyst for The Wide Sargasso Sea. Shared Experience’s original production of After Mrs Rochester, which was directed by Polly Teale, attracted great critical acclaim and won the Time Out award for Best West End Production.

Performed by final year Acting students.
2. A student production of Gordon & Caird's Jane Eyre. The Musical in Leo, Indiana:
Leo High School's
"Jane Eyre", the musical
Performed on Transformed LHS Stage
March 11-13, 7:00 pm

Leo High School Drama Department's new musical, Jane Eyre by John Caird and Paul Gordon, is currently in the making.and looks to be one of the biggest production the drama department has ever undertaken.
Jane Eyre is a romantic and bittersweet drama of a young girl's adolescent years into her adulthood, based on the novel by Charlotte Bronte. This nineteenth century masterpiece is written to touch the heart through hitting the chords of human nature, such as: love, loss, friendship and maturity.
The lead roles are: Jane Eyre, played by senior, Ellen Osborne and Mr. Edward Rochester played by senior, Joe Zeigler As the cast rehearse multiple evenings during the week, so are many student-led crews to prepare and ready the stage for production week.
For this production, the technology and construction crews are being challenged the most by the complexity of the special effects and stage capacity. Extensions and stage set up are being constructed to make the stage setting very enhanced both dimensionally and accessibly. "This is the biggest, most expensive and technologically advanced production in Leo's' history", says Shane Wolfe, Leo senior. Wolfe is one of three set crew leaders in charge of managing student volunteers with building the set exactly as drawn in the stage plans. Tech crews are also going to be using the advancement of sounds and lighting to create a lively experience during the show. Stage effects include a three dimensional tree that endures a storm, fog and their also will be special puppetry.
Properties and costumes crew(s) seek community help in finding stage props (19th Century) and seamstresses. Publicity and house crews are finding all possible ways of advertising the musical. Every student and adult volunteer in the drama program is working very hard against the clock to make this show the best Leo has ever shown.
Jany Eyre will show on March 11, 12 and 13 at Leo High School.
