Jane Eyre is one of the most popular British Novels penned by Charlotte Bronte(April 21, 1816 – March 31, 1855). Among the three popular Bronte Sisters, she was the eldest one. Charlotte Bronte was the third of six children to Mr. Patrick Bronte and Mrs. Maria Branwell. Her father was an Irish Anglican clergyman. Her mother died quite early, leaving five daughters and a son. She did her early education at Clergy Daughters School [sic]. You could find the description of Lowood School in Jane Eyre.
Charlotte maintained bad health as well as physical and mental development throughout her lifetime. Her two elder sisters died of Tuberculosis in May 1826. On 31st March, 1855, Charlotte and her unborn child died because of tuberculosis.[sic]
The immense success of Jane Eyre lit a new movement to feminism in the world of English literature. The portrayal of Jane Eyre is quite parallel to Charlotte. Jane Eyre deals with the maturation of a child because of the circumstances and emotions. It features five major stages of development. They are childhood at Gateshead, education at Lowood School, Adele’s governess at Thornfield, Rivers Family at Morton and at Marsh End, followed by the reunion and entering into marital bliss to Rochester at Ferdean. The whole novel narrates the circumstances that transform a girl called Jane to mature woman.
