Not very much to report today. Just redheads in The Telegraph, and our last Rochester gets a mention:
And male redheads are an increasingly distinguished tribe, not least the incredibly sexy Damian Lewis (Band of Brothers, Life) and Toby Stephens (utterly swoonsome in the BBC's adaptation of Jane Eyre). Bring on the ginger kiddies. (Erin Baker)
ABC News (Australia) talks about tuberculosis and mentions its impact on the Brontës; The Unauthorized Biography of Jen posts about a visit to Haworth; alita.reads is going to read Jane Eyre, Villette's reading on The Valve has finished:
found this final installment of Villette wholly engrossing, in a shameless readerly kind of way. Despite having read the novel before, I was deeply moved by the emotional intensity of Lucy’s experiences, from the surreal, dream-like excursion to the fete, at which all the beneficent possibilities of spectatorship that have been explored during other parts of the novel dissipate in the pain of exclusion and misinterpretation, to the almost equally dream-like revelation of the little house in the Faubourg Clotilde, with its little couch, its little chiffoniere, its little stove and “diminutive” dishes, its “miniature classe.” (Read more) (Rohan Maitzen)
Inside my World talks about Wuthering Heights (but she hasn't read it!) and Adventures of a Read-a-holic posts a brief comment; the Jane Eyre Icontest now proposes a banner challenge and Trifter recommends yet another Haworth attraction: the Brontë Weaving Shed in the Towend Mill.

  1. Thanks for the mention! I've only just started Jane Eyre and I'm already enjoying it. I keep hearing such great things about the book that I can't wait to get into it a bit more.
