John Sutherland writes in the
Guardian about Martin Amis and describes the author as 'our grand master of "I narration"'. That triggers a question:
What are the greatest "I" works in our literature? My list would include: Robinson Crusoe, Tristram Shandy, Jane Eyre, Great Expectations, Midnight's Children, Remains of the Day and – putting my own money where John Self's mouth is – Money.
This is what we have on the Web 2.0 today:
The Sage Room writes briefly about Agnes Grey.
Bookworm Nation is reminded of Jane Eyre and Rebecca by Nine Coaches Waiting, by Mary Stewart.
_rosedark has created a few Jane Eyre 2006 icons.
Nick Findley has uploaded to Flickr a picture of a nice detail of the façade of St Louis Central Library. And YouTube user
Erodiade2008 continues uploading videos of her reading poems by Emily Brontë: today's is No Coward Soul Is Mine.
EDIT: An alert for tonight in the UK radio station
