A couple of student productions of Jane Eyre open today in the US:
1. In Topeka, Indiana:

At the Westview Jr/Sr High School a production of the Robert Johanson's adaptation of Jane Eyre:
Westview Theatre will be producing
Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre,
adapted for the stage by Robert Johanson,
on March 20th and 21st.

This production is directed by senior Honors Thespians Breanne Bennett and Camille Yoder. About 45 actors from seniors in high school down to second grade students are in the cast.
Jane Eyre (played by Tedi Zollinger as a child and Katie Prillwitz as an adult) is a woman who yearns for both love and independence. Her childhood with her foster mother, Mrs. Reed (Drew Wheeler) is lonely and abusive. Her only ally is the family's maid Bessie (Cara Borkholder). Jane then moves on to Lowood School under the strict guidance of Mr. Brocklehurst (Austin Glenn). Mrs. Fairfax (Kelsey Dunker) hires Jane as a governess for the ward of Mr. Rochester (Owen Fry) who has his own dark secrets. Jane must decide between loving the dull, yet stable Reverend St. John (Keenan Crotty) or the mysterious Rochester, while striving for her own independence as a free woman.
