Two Brontë-related amateur theatrical productions open today, November 19 and tomorrow November 20:
1. First, a Wuthering Heights adaptation in the heart of Shakespeare country:

This in an adaptation of the novel. Frar from the Hollywood portrayal. This is about a dysfunctional family; it is dark and violent. Its themes are of death, the moors and a possessive but doomed love.
By the way, they are preparing a Jane Eyre adaptation for next November 2009.
2. And Gordon & Caird's Jane Eyre. The Musical in Arbroath, Angus, Scotland:

Angus Musical Youth Theatre presented the Scottish Premiere of 'Jane Eyre - a Musical Drama' last year in Carnoustie. This is your chance to see that Scottish Premiere Production performed at the new Webster Theatre.

The show is packed with emotion, passion, well considered staging and outstanding music, so the Angus youngsters are committed to ensuring 'Jane Eyre' builds upon their earlier success this year at the Webster in both 'We Will Rock You' and 'Les Miserables'.
AMYT director Danny Webster commented: "Our young people have been working extremely hard with musical director Richard Allan since completing 'Les Miserables' in September to bring this superb sing-through musical to the Angus public.
"The music in 'Jane Eyre' is quite simply magnificent and sure to appeal to a wide audience. This new musical is certainly one not one to be missed."
The 70-strong cast is led by two Carnoustie 'Jane Eyres', 20-year-old Angela Branney and 12-year-old Lana Edgar, with the role of Rochester portrayed by Montrose talent, Matthew Tomlinson.
A twist in this year's production sees Mathew's two elder brothers, Nick and Chris, complete a principal line-up which involves a strong contingent of youngsters from Arbroath, Forfar, Montrose, Carnoustie and surrounding area.
Key roles are depicted by Corah Edgar, Elliott Beattie, Heather Black, Haig Cruickshank, Peter and Heather Simmonds, Sophie Fitzpatrick, Louise Hutton, Amy Fitzpatrick, Rachel Robertson, Chris O'Marra, Claire Nicol, Chris MacLeman, Kirsty Petrie, Blair Wallace and Tasha Bates.
