We present today a newly-released Brontë-related book for young readers. We are very thankful to the author for providing us with the details:

The Famous Four.
A Life of the Brontës

by Mary Summers

ISBN: 9780956103000

Available at £4.99
at the: Brontë Parsonage Museum Shop, Haworth
or from: Primrose Books, sumfamily7@aol.com

This is the story of the life and times of that famous family, the Brontës. It reveals their enchanted world as they grew up in the isolated parsonage of Haworth. Although motherless for the most part, they survived by relying heavily on each other and creating a close-knit family unit. During their short lives, they met many challenges and yet managed to overcome them by the sheer genius of their creativity.
The book is written primarily for those gifted and talented younger readers who wish to gain knowledge, in an easy-to-read format, of the four surviving Brontës, and of their literary contributions. However, it could also appeal to the general public who simply long to know more about the Brontës.
Written mainly in dialogue, this fictionalised tale, which is fully based on known and researched facts, aims to offer an insight into their lives.
It can also be used as a companion book or an aid to the background and social aspects of any of the Brontë novels for English Literature ‘A’ Level and GCSE students or even for those at first year university level.
