We want to highlight some known members of the Mammoth Screen's TV adaptation of Wuthering Heights crew:

1- Cinematography by Ulf Brantås.

Ulf Brantås is a BAFTA nominee for the miniseries To The Ends of the Earth (2005), winner of the European Film Award for Kvinnorna på taket (1989) and is probably best known as the director of photography of a couple of Lukas Moodysson's films: Fucking Åmål (1998) and Lilja 4-ever (2002).

2- Costume Design by Amy Roberts.
A BAFTA winner for Oliver Twist (2007), "The Virgin Queen" (2005) and An Englishman Abroad (1983) (TV).

3- Ruth Barrett (in the picture) as composer.
Ruth studied composition at The Royal Academy of Music and read music at Cambridge University. During 2005-6 Ruth worked extensively with RTS award-winning composer Martin Phipps, writing additional music cues for BBC adaptations 'The Virgin Queen' [winner of Ivor Novello Award 2006] and 'The Line of Beauty' and feature films 'Pierrepoint' and 'The Flying Scotsman'. She went on to score television dramas; 'What we did on our holiday', starring Pauline Collins and True Dare Kiss, a six part drama series for BBC 1 starring Paul McGann, alongside writing additional cues for BBC dramas ‘Oliver Twist’ (winner of Ivor Novello Award 2007) and Emmy nominated ‘Sense and Sensibility’. This year Ruth has scored the feature length BBC4 drama ‘Hancock and Joan’, starring Ken Stott and Maxine Peake and has recently completed ‘Whitechapel’, a new three part thriller for ITV about Jack the Ripper due to be shown January 2009. She is currently working on ‘Wuthering Heights’, a two-part Mammoth Screen adaptation for ITV.

  1. I think they look like a very talented cast and crew. I'm looking forward to it. Also on IMDB it has the air date listed as November 2008. I wasn't sure if that was right.

  2. Agreed, and perhaps a more modern gritty feels as proven by the brilliant 'Fucking Amal' and 'Lilja 4-ever'.

  3. I've only see 'Fucking Amal', which was excellent. But i've heard good things about 'Lilja 4-ever'.

  5. November? I wish, although the production is not listed in the ITV press release for this season's programmes, and it's supposed to be one of the flagships.

It is a promising background, that's for sure.
