A few days ago we mentioned a new blog on the Brontës in Dutch:
Brontës.nl. Yesterday we received a kind email from its webmistress informing us that the site is not copmpletely finished and letting us know what its basic purposes are:
On this website I inform Dutch readers about the family, their books, Brontë Country and the Brontë Society.
If you speak Dutch this won't be the last time you visit the site, we are sure.
About.com reports the news that the Peak District has issued a
Movie Map to help tourists trace their favourite films locations in the area more easily. The Peak District is where Jane Eyre 2006 was filmed.
The
Pittsburgh Tribune-Review announces the 2009 season of the
Pittsburgh Irish & Classical Theatre which includes an adaptation of Jane Eyre by Alan Stanford:
Charlotte Bronte's "Jane Eyre" (Dec. 2 through 20, 2009) concludes the season with a story of suspense and romance that Paul believes will appeal to families. The Victorian-era story of a simple governess and her forbidden relationship with the brooding and mysterious Mr. Rochester has been adapted by Alan Stanford, who created the adaptation of "Salome" that Pittsburgh Irish & Classical Theatre produced this season.
Paul has asked Stanford to direct and expects it will be even more popular with audiences than the production of "Pride and Prejudice" that his company did in December 2007. (Alice T. Carter)
EDIT: Also in The
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:
"Jane Eyre," Alan Stanford (after Bronte) (Dec. 2-20): The Dublin director/adaptor of this season's "Salome" returns to steer a cast of 17 through his version of Bronte's classic tale. (Christopher Rawson)
The blogosphere has a few interesting things (as usual).
Zoë Brigley discusses the letters Charlotte Brontë wrote to M. Heger, and the
Etsy shop vintagechickendesigns has created a pair of Jane Eyre-inspired earrings.
