The Independent (Ireland) talks about new period drama productions. Both the ITV new TV miniseries and the Ecosse Films feature project based on Wuthering Heights get a mention.
A thrilling new version of Wuthering Heights by ITV is expected to land on the small screen later this year. Meanwhile, Hollywood executivess are busy casting for a new Cathy after Natalie Portman pulled out of a big-screen version of Emily Bronte's epic. (Deirdre Reynolds)
Well, if you read BrontëBlog you know that Abbie Cornish has been chosen as the new Cathy.

The Guardian publishes a back to school Quiz and we are pretty sure that our readers know the answer to one of its questions:
From which novel is this extract, in which a schoolgirl is unjustly chastised by her teacher, taken? “This girl, this child, the native of a Christian land, worse than many a little heathen who says its prayers to Brahma and kneels before Juggernaut - this girl is - a liar.”

1. The Rotters’ Club by Jonathan Coe
2. Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld
3. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë
4. The Schoolmistress: A Moral Tale for Young Ladies by Rachel Hunter
The IZOD clothing company has presented its new Fall 2008 Collection which includes:
IZOD Women Fall 2008 Candy Days
Bronte Country
There’s nothing like a padded barn jacket to ward off the wild winds of the English Moors and this season’s IZOD jacket takes inspiration from the countryside. Anchored by the warm and cozy hues of chestnut brown, the look works well back in the city when paired with this season’s staple, the wide-legged trouser.
The Publishers Weekly Blog posts about a very special 1943 Jane Eyre edition with wood engravings by Fritz Eichenberg. Se me ocurre... is reading Jane Eyre (in Spanish). Harlani Salim Uncorked! reviews Jane Eyre 1944.
