Anne Brontë almost belongs to the same club as Jimi Hendrix

Variety recaps what has been going on in the world of the Ecosse Films production of Wuthering Heights in an article about Michael Fassbender's negotiations to play a part on Quentin Tarantino's new film, Inglorious Bastards:

Fassbender is also attached to play the iconic role of Heathcliff in "Wuthering Heights."
That project, however, has been hit by high-profile departures.
Helmer John Maybury ankled recently after creative disagreements over the script. Natalie Portman, who had been set to play Heathcliff’s ill-fated lover Cathy, left the project in May because of a scheduling clash. Aussie thesp Abbie Cornish has since taken over that role.
Pic producer, U.K.-based Ecosse Films, is seeking a new helmer and hopes to make an announcement in the coming weeks. (Ali Jaafar)

We look forward to hearing that announcement after which, hopefully, the film plan will seriously pick up.

The Times mentions Anne Brontë's name in an article full of names such as Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Brian Jones, Janis Joplin and Kurt Cobain. All those people belong to the "27 Club" meaning they died at that age... all except Anne who, according to The Times, "just missed" by dying at 29 (28 according - incorrectly - to her tombstone). Well, we are glad she didn't join the club as she published Agnes Grey and wrote The Tenant of Wildfell Hall at 28. It would have been even better had she missed joining by more, lots more, years.

Metro has an article on a Hebden Bridge restaurant:

There's nothing not to like about Hebden Bridge. Once a hippy retreat, this little West Yorkshire town might have shed its dreadlocks and wholemeal image, but it's maintained a delightfully relaxed vibe. Given all the rain we've had of late, it's looking more lush than ever; verdant greenery forms the perfect backdrop to terraces of stone houses that look straight out of a Brontë novel. It's oh-so-bucolic and oh-so-pretty, but, as the locals would no doubt remind you, capable of contemporary cool, with wine bars and traditional boozers mingling on the high street. (Mickey Noonan)

Actually, Hebden Bridge is at a stone's throw from Haworth and well worth a trip.
