The Brontë Parsonage Blog has important news today:
This Saturday, the current President of the Brontë Society, Rebecca Fraser, chaired the Annual General Meeting for the last time. A popular and approachable figure at the annual June Weekends for the past seven years, she has now stepped down. It was announced that Brontë Society Council has just invited the actor, entertainer, ex-MP and television presenter Gyles Brandreth to be the new president, and that he has accepted.
Mr Brandreth has several Classics-related videos online, including one on Jane Eyre which unfortunately doesn't seem to be working at the moment. BrontëBlog would like to wish him good luck in this new venture.

And of course we would also like to wish Rebecca Fraser all the best and thank her for all she has done for the Brontës.

We are still waiting for an official announcement on who is going to be Brontë Parsonage Museum director after Alan Bentley stepped down.
