Jane Eyre adapted by Alan Stanford returns to the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis from today March 8 until March 30. From the Minneapolis Star Tribune:

Re-opening Saturday: Jane Eyre is back. The story of Charlotte Brontë's orphan-turned-governess, which received a mildly gothic staging by John Miller-Stephany last fall at the Guthrie, is being revived with the same cast. Stacia Rice returns to the role of Jane, which she embodied with a muted grace last year, while Sean Haberle plays her quaking employer and lust object, Rochester. In this rococo love story, Jane suffers terribly as a child but grows up to become a functioning adult, including being the caregiver for the children in Rochester's household. Both Jane and Rochester are scarred, wanting souls who, despite their differences, fall for each other. Mirth ensues. (Rohan Preston)
