Wuthering Heights in the Jane Thornton adaptation, that recently was on stage in York begins today a UK tour in a new production of the Two Hats Company:
Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same

A mysterious orphan who sets two families at odds. A conflict passed down across generations. And a love that lasts beyond death. Cathy and Heathcliff grow up on the remote Yorkshire moors, soulmates and fellow victims of Cathy's brother. But when a chance mistake sends Heathcliff away, Cathy marries the wrong man...

TWO FAMILIES. TWO SOULS. ONE LOVE TO DIE FOR.

Blanche McIntyre directs a cast featuring Two Hats regulars Chris Dobson, Emma Cooper and Nick Marshall and newcomers Matt Dudley and Krisha Harman to present an intimate evening of story-telling suitable for all ages.
Composer Darren Scott provides an evocative original score for this production, with costumes designed by Helen Brady.
The Leamington Spa Courier interviews the director, Blanche McIntyre:
Renowned scriptwriter Jane Thorton’s adaption of the novel is being directed by London-based director Blanche McIntyre.
She said: “It is very exciting to be directing this play.
“The thing about this version of Wuthering Heights is it is actually unsentimental, surprisingly funny and very dark.
“This makes it much more passionate than I thought it would be.
“The characters treat each other really badly and they make terrible fools of themselves by the end.”
The script, which covers the 19th century tale of tragic love on the Yorkshire Moors, requires just five actors to play all the parts.
Blanche is pleased to be involved with a narrative which she is fondly familiar with. She said:” I am so pleased to be producing Wuthering Heights because when I was younger I was so awestruck by it.” (Oliver Williams)
