Fans of the latest Mr Rochester will be delighted to read this feature on Toby Stephens in
The Times.
Great things have always been expected of Toby Stephens. He is the son of two great actors: Maggie Smith and Robert Stephens. But there are other Rochesters out there. The stage adaptation of Jane Eyre by Alan Stanford opens this week at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis,
as we reported in the past. The
Star Tribune reports it today too.
Ah, Jane Eyre. It is a tale of love and loneliness by Charlotte Bronte that was turned into a play. This week, it opens at the Guthrie Theater for a nice little stay. The show is scheduled to close Nov. 10. (Barbara Flanagan)
You can see what
Stacia Rice, the new Jane, looks like in
this old post. Sean Haberle plays Mr Rochester.
Silense publishes a review of Wuthering Heights in Russian and
Pete Barnes captures the wuthering mood of the moors perfectly in this stunning picture of Top Withens.
Good news for
Jennifer Vandever, author of The Brontë Project. Her book has now been translated into Polish as Projekt Brontë. Here are
the details:
Publisher: Rebis, Year of edition: 2007, Format: 12,5x20 cm, ISBN: 8373018107.
A good read, whatever the language.
