Two different projects, previously announced on this blog, are performed today, August 25, in Perth, Australia and Los Angeles:

1. In L.A., a dance piece
AUGUST 25
RAVISH - Benefit Preview

Bootleg Theater
2220 Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles, Ca 90057
5:00 - 7:00pm
Rosanna Gamson / World Wide, in association with BOOTLEG, presents a benefit preview of RAVISH, a new dance theater production inspired by the Brontë sisters, at Bootleg Theater. Expect lavish hors d'oeuvres, fabulous cocktails, demonstration of interactive media by Flavia Sparacino and, of course, excerpts from RAVISH. Admission is $20. (Save the Date Central)

The show is a music and dance performance about the five Brontë sisters, and their brother, all of whom died of tuberculosis before the age of 40. The figurative depiction focuses on the hugely creative works of the entire family, while also weaving in their reclusive nature. The L.A.-based dance theater company is assembled with artists from an array of backgrounds and countries. And hey, one of the sisters is played by a man. (Downtown L.A. Scene)
