A different kind of alert for today, July 6:
Whitechapel Church Flower Festival (6th - 8th July)
Friday 6th July 2007, 10:00AM - 4:00PM

c/o 22 Old Popplewell Lane
Scholes
Cleckheaton

The flower festival is being led by the Spen Valley Flower Club with a Bronte theme. In aid of the Whitechapel Church Restoration Fund.
The grave of Rose Ann Heslip, who died in 1915 was discovered during 2005. Rose Ann was a niece of Patrick Bronte, father of the famous sisters, and preached at Whitechapel during the time that he was Curate at nearby Hartshead Church. Rose Ann's 90 year old great-grand-daughter, Mrs Olive Kellet visited the grave shortly after it had been discovered with four generations of her family.

A Songs of Praise thanksgiving service is to be held on the 8th July at 3pm.
More information about Rose Ann Heslip on this old post of ours and links therein.
