$100, per two volume set; 764 pages
ISBN 978-1932535-14-3.Publication Date: 28 February 2007
A facsimile of the rare and virtually unobtainable 1847 Thomas Cautley Newby edition of Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights in two volumes, as is the 1847 edition. It is bound in heavy (F grade) buckram in sewn signatures. ISBN = 978-1932535-14-3. The price is $100 per set.
This is a textually significant book. Until 1976 all reprints of this novel were based on an 1850 version edited by Emily Bronte's sister Charlotte. To accommodate the wishes of the firm then reprinting Wuthering Heights , Charlotte Bronte reparagraphed the novel, made what she felt were clarifications in dialogue, and repaired some of Newby's typographical errors. While these alterations may be of interest in themselves, they deviate from the text that Emily Bronte wrote. The closest text to Emily Bronte's manuscript is this version.
