Jenny Uglow is the author of Elizabeth Gaskell: A Habit of Stories (1992), among other books. Her most recent book is a biography of the wood-engraver Thomas Bewick, Nature’s Engraver, and was published by Faber & Faber in October 2006. Check this old post for more details.
