This post in the Brontë Spirit Blog gives a new and very interesting acommodation option in Haworth. No less that John Brown's own house:
A few yards from the Parsonage in Church Street, the house attached to the Old School Room is currently being renovated. John Brown built this house in about 1830 - he was a stonemason as well as the church sexton.

The beautifully faced Yorkshire stone at the front is evidence of his skill. Arthur Bell Nicholls lodged here for nine years before his marriage to Charlotte Brontë, and it was here that he read Shirley. Roars of laughter and stamping of feet were heard as he read about the character based on himself, which caused Mrs Brown to think he had “gone off his head”.

The house, now known as Haworth Church Cottage, has been altered over the years to make way for modern living but many features still remain. Most of the original doors are still in place as are the bedroom fireplaces. The sitting room fireplace was removed many years ago, but a new one has been made for us in local stone by Gilson’s quarry in Haworth.
The house will be open for holiday lettings from Easter 2007 and will accommodate four people. It has been made very comfortable and warm with every modern convenience without losing the character of the building. (Averil Kenyon)
