Easier Lifestyle reminds us that the release of Jane Eyre 2006 on DVD - 5 February - is getting ever nearer. The article/review doesn't add much, but - for fans of both the book and the series - it is always nice to read about it.

The Kalamazoo Gazette announces something people in the area may look forward to. A homeschoolers' production of Jane Eyre the Musical, coming on April 26-28 at the Comstock auditorium. The company Homeschool Performing Arts (HPA) has just staged a version of Anne of Green Gables with much success, as well as a few other productions in the past.
Now that "Anne of Green Gables'' has closed, [Brad] Garnaat [,the HPA director,] and HPA are working on "Jane Eyre.''
"We're already looking forward to the spring musical,'' Garnaat said. "A musical is more difficult, but these kids have proven they're up to the task.'' [...]
Region communities represented in the upcoming production of "Jane Eyre'' will include Allegan, Augusta, Bloomingdale, Climax, Galesburg, Kalamazoo, Lawton, Mattawan, Otsego, Plainwell, Portage, Schoolcraft, Scotts, Sturgis and Wayland.
For more information about HPA, or to order tickets for "Jane Eyre,'' visit www.hpakzoo.org or call 668-2822.
Showtimes are 7 p.m. April 26-28, and a 1 p.m. matinee April 28. Tickets will go on sale March 1 for $6, $6.40 and $7. (Kelle Barr)
The San Bernardino Sun reviews the book Hollywood Escapes, which looks at places near Hollywood where film-makes went to in order to give a different atmosphere to their movies. An atmosphere that you would think couldn't be found in Hollywood.
The place: Wildwood Park, Thousand Oaks.
The films: "Wuthering Heights," "Spartacus," "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance."
Imagine Spartacus being shot where Wuthering Heights was shot! Who would have thought Spartacus would roam the moors, Heathcliff-like ;)

And finally, The Village Voice reviews the stage production Purity, by Thomas Bradshaw. Apparently this not-suitable-for-everyone play
follows two Columbia University professors as they debate Wuthering Heights v. Jane Eyre, snort prodigious amounts of cocaine, and screw each other's hot wives. (Alexis Soloski)
If you're curious about it, you can read further on the play here and here. And the ticket information can be found here.
